{Weekend Rewind}

Today I would have loved a day to just stay in bed...watch TV and nap!  This weekend was jam packed!

Friday night when we got home from work, I got started on making sandwiches, making a taco pasta salad and made two cakes for the Poker tournament that Ricky organized for Saturday.  After the work was all done, I got my bath and headed to bed with Tanner while Ricky and Maddy were at darts.

Saturday morning, up early for hockey (glad to say it's the last early morning Saturday in Masham) and then we met my sister in Hull where we switched vehicles and brought the girls home for the night.  Since I had all the kids, I thought it would be nice to head up and visit Nanny and Papa, they love to see the kids.

Nanny was having a good day and Papa loves his Everlea cuddles.  After about an hour there, we headed home.  I got all my stuff ready and before you know it, we were heading to the Legion to set up the food.  We stayed for a bit and then once we went home, the littles got ready for bed and we were all tucked in and sleeping by 8:30 am.

Everlea got up around 7 on Sunday morning and while my parents were over, I made some French toast to bring to Church potluck and gathered all the girls belongings.  We got ready for Church where it was Eric's last service.  It's always hard when you get a minister and then after a couple of years, they say their goodbyes.  We have had to do this a couple of times and it's never easy.  After the service, we gathered downstairs for a potluck and then we were heading home to meet my sister.

Lainey "helping me" feed Everlea!
The rest of Sunday was spent catching up on laundry, getting lunches ready and catching up on shows!

Thinking Fall

I didn't want to write today...

It's Wednesday but I didn't want to do my typical "What I'm Loving Wednesday"...

So, I am following Jill's lead and talking about FALL:

- I love digging into my Fall Rubbermaid bins and decorating for Fall but I have been trying to wait until October 1st.

- With our new house, I really want to full decorate for Halloween this year - inside and out.  I am torn though - I like autumn colors and pumpkins but this year I want my outside to be SCARY...I want to be THAT house that people stop and look at...and we are going to try for that this year!

- the inside will be pretty Fall with fall smells coming from the Scentsy warmers though.

- Like Jill, I have not bought any Halloween candy because it will be all gone...but again, this year will be our first year actually handing out candy and I am excited for that.  Unfortunately Maddy and Ricky have called dibs on that so it looks like I'm taking Tanner out.

- Maybe I can convince him to dress up together!

- Car Rally - another Fall item on the list - which is booked and this year the guys won't be with us - we're taking the next generation with us - Maddy and Charlotte are joining us for fun, food and competition!

- Hunting - not me of course but Ricky will be gone for a whole week for moose hunting (two weekends) and then basically gone for two weeks in November for deer - and I always look forward to having the house to ourselves.

- Hockey - I'm sure come October we will have a hockey schedule and will be starting two nights a week practices and possibly games (although I am hearing that's in November)

- I am not a fan of pumpkin anything...only the seeds!  I like cleaning the gunk out of the pumpkins but leave Ricky to the carving!

- Leaves changing...it is happening and I love driving on back country roads and seeing the change (especially week from week going to Masham every Saturday morning).

What do you love about Fall?

{Weekend Rewind}

Friday after work I had intentions of cleaning and getting things ready for my epicure party on Saturday, but that didn't quite pan out as planned.  Hollie and the kids were at home, and eventually Vicky and Julia joined us and we headed to the chipstand for supper.  I did get the grass cut before though, so I did that.  After supper, I did manage to clean the upstairs bathroom and then I ran to Norway Bay to pick up cookies.

Saturday morning was early hockey, so Tanner and I did that while Maddy and Olivia stayed at home to clean the house.  Once we got home, Tanner headed to a birthday party and I got some things done before having a little nap.  My sister and Everlea came over around 1 and I got some snuggles and visits with the little Miss.  We had pizza for supper and eventually guests started arriving for my epicure party.  Everyone was gone by 9:30 pm and once things were cleaned up, Maddy and I headed to bed to watch Chopped Junior.

Sunday, again, all intentions to go to Church, but then I was feeling dizzy and decided against it.  Instead, I spent the day doing laundry and just relaxing.  Maddy and I watched Tall Girl on Netflix and then I went through the Epicure catalogue to pick what I wanted.  I received $160 in free product and 3 items at half price!  Ricky came home from the camp on time for supper and we caught up on Big Brother.

TGIF

I am so glad that it's Friday.

I am looking forward to grabbing some groceries this afternoon, going home and cleaning.  That is what I am looking forward to because I had a busy week and not a lot got done!

- this week was activities and/or meeting every night this week

- Tuesday was our first Spark meeting and we have a nice little group of 4 quiet little girls...I am really looking forward to this year.

- Wednesday was soccer and despite the fact that I have 5 little two year old  girls (giving them a try for physical activity) they all actually cooperated a lot better than they have been...so cute to see these little munchkins run around.

- Last night was Open House at the school and with some BBQ technical difficulties, it's amazing how our community is so close. We had two volunteers come and work the BBQ and when the BBQ (thanks to the Canada Day Committee) wasn’t working for us, we were able to run across the road and borrow a BBQ from the neighbours. These volunteers don’t even have kids at Onslow. When I give speeches at the school, I always mention how great our community is and how willing they are to help out and support us! WAY TO GO QUYON!!

This weekend:

- hockey, bright and early tomorrow (then I am hoping to get home and have a nap while Tanner goes to a birthday party)

- Epicure Party at my house

- Ricky gone moose hunting all weekend

- Quick visit with Ms Everlea

- Church

- Cutting the grass

Happy Weekend!

{Weekend Rewind}

Friday night right after work, we got the kids and crossed the ferry to run some errands.  Maddy and I got dropped off at Tanger Outlets to get some clothes for Maddy (not very successful, it's really hard to find school clothes when it's all crop shirts and she can't wear them to school?  We were looking for a pair of gym shorts and everything was too short...can we just have normal clothes please?) and the boys went to Canadian Tire to get some new hockey stuff that Tanner needed.

Saturday morning we were up with the birds and off to hockey in Masham again.  This was the only weekend Ricky could come so I took advantage of him getting him ready.  After hockey, him and Tanner went to the camp to do some clean up and Maddy and I ran to GT in Shawville to grab a few things, came home, prepared some homemade Black Bean Burgers and then relaxed.  When the boys got home, I put the last load of laundry in and then we walked over to Mom's for a little visit.

Sunday morning I had all intentions of going to Church because I wanted to see the new Sunday School program but we were heading to the city to a wake/visitation for my brother in law, Butter's dad.  After the service, we went to St Huberts for supper with them and then it was bath and bed!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Are we allowed to feel anything but sadness today, on 9/11?  I will always remember the tragic day 18 years ago, but today, I am loving:

- kids sayings and funny things.  This week Tanner had to provide a baby picture and write "why did my parents name me Tanner" and present to his class....so I said "because we liked it" because really, there was no significance to why we named him Tanner but he didn't like that answer.  He wanted "because we saw it on a derby car" and I said "Tanner, that's not true" and he said "I know, but it sounds better" - so we named Tanner because of a derby car!

- getting geared up to decorate for Fall and Halloween...now that we are on main street and have a house to decorate, I am looking forward to it.

- looking forward to sweaters, leggings and boots

- getting my glasses back today - I left them in my sisters car this weekend, so her and Everlea are stopping by later!

- that I didn't have to actually do the work of making tomatoes and salsa, because my mom did it

- I'm having an epicure party and it will be a chance for some friends to come and see the new house who haven't yet (and to taste yummy snacks)

- Car rally time is booked and we are set...except this year Ricky will be away hunting, so it looks like its just girls and the addition of Maddy and Charlotte!

- having friends in the right line of work.  Ricky busted and broke his tailgate on the weekend and has been looking for a new one all week - nothing under $1000 - but his cousin found one and will have it painted the same color as the truck for $600!

What are you loving today?

{Weekend Rewind}

Friday I was exhausted and had all intentions of getting my bath and going to bed early...and that happened, after a quick visit from Thomas who brought me some lovely Bath and Body Works soap for my birthday!

Saturday morning we were up early, well the kids and I and we were heading to Masham for Tanner's first hockey practice.  It was my first time driving to Masham, so we left early, got there early and just took our time.  My boy laced up and was happy to be back on the ice again!

Afterwards, I had intentions of going to the city to grab some canning supplies so I could make tomatoes and salsa, but as I was driving, I thought a nap sounded better!  We had a quick bite of Subway for lunch and headed home for a relaxing afternoon/night.  Maddy made some protein balls and then we watched Diary of a Whimpy Kid and Cop and a Half on Netflix.  It was an early night but a long night.  I kept waking up and noticing Ricky still wasn't home from a horseshoe tournament and so I kept waking up thinking he was in a ditch somewhere...he finally came in at 6 am, I was not impressed and I would not let him sleep on Sunday!

Sunday morning I was up early obviously and made some beef barley soup and put a chicken in the crockpot for this week's lunches.  Maddy and I headed to Church and then came home and relaxed.  Around 1, Maddy and Tanner went babysitting Sam and Lainey and Shannon, myself and Dad headed to Shawville.  We stopped quickly to see Nanny and Papa then went over to a Celebration of Life for a lovely lady that passed away at the age of 102.  We grabbed pizza for supper and Butter, Tracy and Kaitie were at home when I got home with news that Butter's father passed away.

Once they left, we all bathed, showered and headed to bed!  Lights were out before 8 am!

{Long Weekend Rewind}

What a busy weekend...

Friday I was off and headed to the Shawville Fair with Tanner's school.  Maddy was off so she came with us to help. Every year the schools are invited to be part of an Agriculture Awareness outing.  We tour 3 things and then we all head back to the beer tent and watch a magician show.  As a tradition, I keep the kids then and we do the Fair that day/evening.  The kids got to ride the rides with some friends before we called it an early night.

This picture and Instragram won us a Free Pizza
My sister and Everlea spent the weekend with us, so they met us at home on Friday night.

Saturday morning we headed up to Shawville to go check out a new consignment store, had a bite to eat and a quick trip to Giant Tiger.  Once we got home, Maddy made me a cake for my birthday (with little help from my sister) and I ended up having a wee nap with Everlea in the rocking chair.  We got ready and all headed up to the Fair around 5 pm and sent Everlea to Mom and Dad's.  We spent most of our time looking around for a local girl who unfortunately lost her cell phone the evening before and went to social media to see if anyone could find it.  Maddy, having the big heart that she does, felt bad and decided to give her one of her older iPhones.  Unfortunately we didn't find her then, but when we returned on Sunday, we had a note ready and left it with someone.  Eventually she caught up with us and was soooo grateful.

Reunited and soooo grateful
My cake Maddy made
Saturday night was crazy busy up there and I think Maddy did one ride and Tanner did like 3 then it got crazy cold and we headed out around 8.

Sunday was my birthday and I had an awful sleep and was up early.  Maddy and I decided to trade Tanner in for Everlea and headed to the Fair for a couple of hours to see Kaleigh perform with her horse.  Once we realized it was an all day thing, we headed home, and we all napped before we all headed back up for the evening and Shannon and Tanner went to Renfrew to pick Rylie up.  The lines were still long and it was still busy but Tanner and Rylie got some rides in, Maddy and Kenzie did the big kid rides and we just toured around. When we got home, Ricky was home from the moose camp and was already in bed.

Monday morning, Shannon and the girls headed out early and we got ready to do the final day of the Fair which is Derby Day.  We get there early to set up our chairs and spend the afternoon there.  It was so hot but we had a great time.  When the derby was over, we decided to pop into Emergency to have Ricky's feet checked.  Over the weekend, his poison ivy seemed to cause some sort of reaction and his feet were swollen, full of hives and really itchy.  While he waited, we had a quick visit with Nanny and Papa and then Dad ended up being up there, so the kids and I hitched a ride home with him so we could get ready for the week ahead.

Tanner with the "Tanner Car" that he finds every year

Hope you had a great weekend!
