What I'm Loving Wednesday

- when I get a call from Hollie to go and pick Thomas up...he shows such excitement that he gets to come home with me, melts my heart!

- kids are back to school tomorrow

- today is my last day in the office - Thursday I am working from home and Friday, with the exception of submitting a bid, I am off!

- Ricky is going away this weekend, I like when it's just the kids and I lol

- Shawville Fair is this weekend, a highlight in our area. The only problem is I hate the crowds and people....so we tend to do the day on Friday then the rest of the time it's just evenings with the derby finishing on Monday.

- all my new earrings from Newborn Feathers...I actually look forward to looking through my collection every morning trying to figure out which ones go with my outfit that day!

- the kids passports have been processed I think, or the money has come off the credit card, so I guess that's good

- Ricky's poison ivy is clearing up nicely...I really thought his legs were going to forever look burnt but the red is going down nicely...he will be scarred from where it was all scabbed though

- a nice group of kids for soccer...and I love that we can combine everyone to make two teams and play games!

- I started doing some crunches and belly exercises last night to lose this belly that has been hanging around LOL - I am also going to sign back up to the gym soon...when I was going there I had more energy...September will be a good time to start

{Weekend Rewind}

Friday was a big day at our house - Ricky and Maddy headed to Chapeau to pick up the new toy:

When I got home from work, the kids had ate, I changed and we hit the road to Cobden to go to the Fair.  Last year we went to this fair and it was great.  It was small, no lines and the kids had a blast so decided to do it again this year.  By 9:00 pm, it started to get cold so the kids and I packed up and headed home.

Saturday morning I got up and cleaned the house, made a strawberry brownie trifle, a buffalo chicken dip and go ready for some visitors that were coming.  Because we don't own a BBQ yet, we decided to just order pizza.  We sat in the porch, everyone had some drinks, we had snacks and for supper, pizza.  Everyone was gone by 10:00 pm then we headed to bed.  Then Tanner woke me up with a sore belly, so I went to bed with him and within minutes he was puking.  I changed the bedding and was prepared, so we thought, but he puked again, missing the bucket so I had to change bedding again.  After a dose of Gravol, we were back sleeping.

Sunday morning I lazed around.  I got up and tidied up but then went back to bed for an hour nap.  When I got up, we had a bite to eat and then we took the side by side down to the soccer field where I sat for 2 hours for soccer registration but I didn't get anyone.  It was a nice day to sit out in the sun though.  Once we headed back home, I made a batch of chocolate zucchini muffins then we caught up on Big Brother.  We were all in bed early and ready for the week.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

- school is starting next week and the kids are super excited

- that other than indoor shoes for Tanner, they are both all ready for school

- happy that I don't get poison ivy like Ricky, owie - and happy that he decided to head to the hospital to have it checked out this morning

- a local lady thought of Maddy yesterday and invited her over to pick out some shoes that were given to her - she scored a pair of high tops and a pair of Converse!

- getting pics like this from my sister, haha

- the drag show that was put on in our building yesterday for Public Service Pride week...I think everyone needs a drag queen in their life!

- fresh garden carrots (my snack all week)

- I ordered more new earrings from Newborn Feathers

- I also ordered some bags from ThirtyOne for our upcoming cruise

- that everyone thinks we won the lottery...bought a house, paid off our cruise and booked/paid our flights, Ricky bought a side by side and we are planning our 2021 trip to Disney...nope, no lottery, just living life as we have it now.  You don't bring your money with you when you die!

Happy Wednesday

{Weekend Rewind}

Friday I had the day off to take the kids back to school shopping.

We left early morning but got everything done.

- We had breakfast at Cora's (totally overpriced)

- got a much needed oil change on the car while we did school supplies at Walmart

- spent $256 on supplies and 4 pairs of pants for Tanner

- then went to Staples and I knew I should have went there first because they had better deals, oh well, got a few things we couldn't find at Walmart there

- dropped Tanner off at my sisters then Maddy and I headed to Place d'Orleans for clothes shopping

- she spent almost $200 on clothes for herself and was pretty proud

- I also feel like my child is a 70's flowerchild (her clothing style)

Saturday Ricky had plans all day and so did we.  We had breakfast then heading to the city again.  We made a quick stop at Dollarama and then met my sister, my parents and friends at a bowling place in Orleans to celebrate Rylie's 5th birthday.

- it was Rock and Bowl at 1 pm in the afternoon which was cool but it was so dark

- I didn't bowl, instead I cuddled with Everlea and met her cousin Colton

- we had an early supper at Montana's (but it took forever)

- we sang Happy Birthday to Rylie (with the moose hat that she wanted)

- we ran to Costco (with an hour left to closing and the place was still a zoo, like seriously?)

- we stopped in at Sophie's but it was a bad time (her mom's funeral service was that day, oops) so we headed home, watched Finding Nemo and went to bed

Sunday we lazed around all day...I made two loaves of bread and took one up to Nanny and Papa which they loved.  I decided to change my shower curtain rod which ended up breaking so had to run and get a new one.  We were all in bed early.

{Weekend Rewind}

It was basically a ball weekend.  The kids had their annual ball tournament so we were at the ball field Friday night and most of Saturday.

What else happened?

- my sister and the kids came and stayed the night with us on Saturday

- Ricky headed to his new moose camp for the night

- caught up all the laundry

- finished BH90210

- watched Big Brother

- cuddled with Rylie and Everlea

- took Everlea to Church with me and left the other kids with Shannon

- went to the grocery store with Tanner to get toilet paper and came out with over $100 in groceries, haha

- thought I finished The Nightshift but there was another season

- slept with Tanner and held a bucket for him last night because he ate a whole bag of M&M's and was sick...

Currently...

Happy Friday!!

Reading: some book, don't know the title right now, sorry.

Watching: Nightshift on Prime, Big Brother and trying BH90210 but the first episode wasn't what I expected this new reboot to be.

Listening to: Nashville soundtrack on Spotify

Thinking about: how the world can be a cruel place and how with all the funding have the important people not figured out a way to beat cancer!  It's sad that more and more people are being diagnosed.

Wishing for: money to fall from the sky...just to pay off some things!  Maybe I should start buying lottery tickets (BUT, I'm saving myself that money by not buying them, haha)
Looking for: Luggage for our cruise.  We all need luggage but it can be so expensive, and what do I get: hard or soft?

Loving: my car pool friends this week.  For someone that was supposed to be off this week, Tuesday when I decided to save my vacation, I had a car full of ladies...and I get to use the car pool lane!

Drinking: Starbucks Strawberry Acai Lemonade Refresher

Eating: Miss Vickie's chips (yep, at 9:35 am)

Looking forward to: the kids and I going back to school shopping next Friday

Have a good weekend!

Wednesday, August 7, 2019

Hey, I'm back!

Technically I am back a week early considering I was supposed to be off this week, but there was nothing going on, Ricky and three kids were at home, so I was like, no way, I'm heading to work!

I have been MIA for the last couple of weeks, here is a recap:

- we moved

Tanner's room
- ugh, we moved alone for the most part because apparently my husband thinks I'm macho woman - let me tell you, by the Wednesday, my poor muscles were Jell-o

- everything went pretty smoothly except for the washer and dryer not fitting and the couches being bigger than we remembered (but managed to make it work)

- Unfortunately my Uncle Cal passed away...we got the call on July 24th that the hospital was moving him to palliative care so we went up and spent the day there then he passed early the next morning...RIP Uncle Cal but I am so happy he is no longer suffering.

- both kids have been playing baseball

- after a week of moving, I jumped on a plane and headed to Medicine Hat for work

- my first time on work travel and I actually enjoyed myself. A king sized bed to myself, yay...no bathtub however, nay!

- I was given a company vehicle so at least my traveller and I weren't literally stuck at the hotel (nothing was in walking distance for us except Costco)

- I met a cute little boy (3 year old John-John) on my flight from Calgary to Ottawa and he wanted me to go to Nova Scotia with his family...he was too cute.

- the kids and Ricky managed and survived without me around

- I got home just on time to take Ricky to his vasectomy appointment on Friday and that went smoothly (you want to spend the day laughing, you should work in Dr Weiss's office - some people really get messed up on the narcotic they give them ahead of time, Ricky did not)

- Saturday was my uncle's Celebration of Life and despite swollen balls, Ricky danced away (and showed literally everyone pics of his procedure)

- Got to visit with a cousin that was done visiting from Windsor and even though it was a quick trip, it was nice seeing and  chatting with her.

- I of course got lots of new baby Everlea cuddles

- the kids and I had a beach day before I started back to work

What have you been up to?
