Hello Vacation

Today is my last day in the office for three weeks...kinda seems weird.

Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICKY!!

What is planned?

- moving, ugh

- settling in to the new house

- beach days

- travelling to Medicine Hat for work and squeezing in a visit possibly with Josee, Evan and the kids

- Ricky's vasectomy

- Ricky's recovery

- Hoping to take the kids to a waterpark one day

Nothing too exciting and I will be checking in and out at work because I have a lot going on right now and feel like it's pointless to take all this time, but whatever!

I'll have a recap when I get back!

Happy Days!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

- we brought a load to the house last night and going to do a couple more tonight - all the storage is done and outdoor stuff, I feel good about that.

- by next week this time, we will be sleeping in our new house.

- after this week, I am away from work for 3 weeks...next week on holidays (to move, not fair) and then the following week I am working but going to Medicine Hat, so Monday I will be flying all day, in Medicine Hat on Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday flying back then the last week is holidays again (after Ricky's vasectomy).

- Shannon and Everlea are coming down this weekend (I didn't mention Rylie because I think she may be having a sleepover at her Granny's, but not 100% sure).

- Ricky bought me a new tablet (seriously, the amount of money we spend on these things haha - because mine somehow mysteriously cracked lastnight and will not work anymore) - Happy Anniversary to me (on the 21st)

- In return, I bought him a Bluetooth speaker thing on sale at Canadian Tire for his birthday AND anniversary!

- loved reading Jill's Equity notes this week and a shoutout to our first anniversary and new home owners!

- Looking at activities to do on our cruise.  We don't partake in the excursions they offer because they are crazy expensive, so I have been doing some research and there are some cool things to do when we are docked.

- Getting invited for supper at my mom's last night and then her making us a shepherds pie for tonight's supper so we can quickly eat and do a couple of loads!

Happy Wednesday!

{Weekend Rewind}

We spent most of the weekend at our new house.

We picked up the keys on Friday night and had chipstand supper there.  Then we had some visitors stop in and were there till about 9:30, just sitting and chatting with people excited to see our place.

Saturday, Ricky had plans with his cousin so the kids and I headed to the city.  We stopped to see Shannon and the kids, then did some stops.  I went to Canadian Tire to get a new set of pots that were on sale for $168, regular $798 and then to Lowe's to get paint (they had no tax day).  HOLY BATMAN paint is expensive...or I just don't know anything about it.  I bought a 5 gallon pail of grey which was $179.99 plus two gallons of white, some paint brushes, rollers and tape and it was $316.  I nearly cried.  After a few more pit stops, including the kid's passport pictures, we headed home.  We stopped at the house to drop off the paint and stuff just as Hollie was passing by, so she came in and we sat around chatting.  Thomas loves the empty house.  Around 7, I quickly taped Maddy's room, ready to paint on Sunday.

While we waited for passport pics to print, Walmart offered a little free session with one digital pic - this is the one we picked...but do not go there for passport pics, I am sure you can find cheaper than $30 EACH.

Sunday morning I was up and headed to the house around 8:30 to get started on the painting.  Amateur painter here.  I did Tanner's room first and didn't do too bad actually.  I did the trim and stuff, then rolled and once it was dry, I did a second coat.  The same with Maddy's room.  Ricky's sister, Tracy came eventually and took over painting LOL.  We started the kitchen but have to go back this week to finish it, apparently the color "calamine lotion" is hard to cover, haha!

We managed to empty our shed and bring all the outdoor stuff and some kitchen stuff and unpacked that.  We are going to do a couple more loads this week too.  It's nice being able to go in, empty a box, place things and then bring the boxes back, reload, etc...

By the time we got home, we had a quick supper of French toast, watched Big Brother and called it an early night.

Today, my body is so sore from painting, ugh.

TGIF

So today is the day we actually get our keys.  We thought it would be Wednesday when we signed at the notary but nope...we still had to wait for the sellers to sign which is today at 1, then they get the money we had to pay and then after work we will stop and pick up the keys.

Weekend plans?  Other than going in, doing some measurements, I don't think we plan on doing much.  I want to go and get paint on Saturday and if I am feeling up to it, perhaps I'll start that Sunday.  We'll see...I have never painted before so if you have tips, pass them to me.

We had someone come Wednesday night and look at our place and they are going to take it for September, so that's good.

Tomorrow Ricky is in a boat poker run thing so it's just the kids and I.  We are going to run to the city and pick up some things, including paint and passport pics.  Other than that, no other plans.

What are your plans this weekend?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

- we sign our life away today...meaning we get keys today!

- being able to drop shit boxes off at the new house, unload, and get them out of the old house.

- the HOT weather...I sweat and I sunburn BUT I do not complain

- getting pics throughout the day of my newest neice

- learning about baseball...haha - Ricky is coaching and so far, I have learned how to score keep (only in the event that Leslie is not around)

- mail days...so many good things coming!

- our project for the flower beds at our new place...Maddy and I have started constructing and making things for our fairy garden.

- with this warm weather, I am really thinking of the cruise...I am thinking that I need to get my kids pics done so I can get their passports in...I am thinking ONCE we are moved, we will start buying luggage AND I have been looking at things to do on our island days (excursions are so expensive)

- I am actually going away on business and I am excited.  I have flown now twice, so the flying part should be okay.  I do have two travelling partners which is good.  I am just excited for some alone time, sleeping in a king size bed alone AND not having to pay a cent!

- that we are done ball for the week

What are you loving today?

{Weekend Rewind}

Beauty of a weekend!  Sun, Sun and more Sun!

Friday night Maddy had Olivia overnight and that was the extent of our Friday night.

Saturday morning Ricky left early to go fishing and the kids and I had plans all day.

- once the girls finally woke up, we dressed, ate and headed to Norway Bay to go to some yard sales

- our purchases: clothes for Maddy, an almost-new bike for Tanner for $10 (funny story, when I brought it to the car, there was a pedal missing, haha) and some $2 booster cables for Ricky.

- we then headed to the beach...the water was nice the kids said.  The sand/beach area wasn't in the nicest condition, but I sat in the shade and enjoyed the quiet.

- early afternoon we left, dropped Liv off and headed to Shawville to grab some strawberries...and stopped a few more yard sales (no purchases) then ran to the hospital to visit Nanny in her new living quarters (Long Term and soon, Papa will be moving in and joining her).

- Nanny was sleeping so we left, said a quick HI and Happy birthday to Uncle Cal and headed home.

- Lounged around, got some yard sale pricing done and then decided to go back to Shawville for supper and joined Mom, Dad and Joanne and Ray at the hospital to have pizza (not us) and cake for Dad and Uncle Cal's birthdays.

- Maddy and I packed the car for the yard sale and then Ricky was home.

Sunday Maddy and I got moving around 8 and headed to my parents place to have a yard sale.  It was a nice day.  We closed shop around 2:30, brought the leftover stuff to the Family Centre.  We made $136!!

By the time I got home, I was a sweaty mess and sunburnt.  I had my bath, got dressed, we had a good supper and then I fell asleep before 7 pm.

Countdown

It seems like our house purchase was soooooooo long ago.

People keep asking, are you excited?  Ugh, until it actually starts to happen, then maybe I will be excited.

We have done a lot of packing.  Most of the storage stuff, all the seasonal stuff and kitchen stuff that isn't being used is all packed in Rubbermaid bins and ready to transfer over.  Last night I emptied the downstairs bathroom just leaving the cleaning products and necessities.  Maddy's room is packed and ready to go and Tanner's too.  I feel good about that.  I have a large amount of stuff that is taking over my kitchen that I would like to have a yard sale, but I am not sure when and if that will happen.

We go and sign at the notary on the 10th which means we get the keys.  Not sure if that means we can actually go in considering our closing date is only the 15th but they couple have already moved out, so I guess we wait and see.

Our plan of action (or Ricky's plan of action) is to do the move the week of the 22nd.  We have furniture arriving on the Monday, so we will continue to bring things that week and all our services (Bell) are being moved on the Friday so I guess by Friday we will be there.

The week of the 15th I want to do some painting and basically just go through the house to see what is needed.  I have some little plans that I want to do - such as organizing cupboards, transforming a dresser into an island (perhaps), have some shelving and organization in the basement and start bringing stuff that we don't need at the house anymore.

At some point then I will have to go and clean the apartment (ugh).  I have been slacking on the cleaning front at home the last few weeks because I say, what's the sense, its a disaster already with boxes all over, so I will just do a big clean up when it's empty.  There will be lots of dust bunnies under the furniture and walls to wash.

I can't wait to just be settled....
